I'm going into the Marine Corps reserve to pay for college. I'm getting my aerospace engineering degree, and I want to eventually be apart of the space program at NASA as a mission specialist or pilot.

My question is; what MOS would line me up best for this on my resume, and present the most opportunity?

A couple I have already considered are intelligence and avionics.

Hell sign up for 03XX, they can do anything. Besides by the time you get out you'll have a degree in Rocket science, and NASA IS HIRING THOSE FELLOWS! :nerd:

Freakin Marines crack me up.

No MOS in the Marine Corps is going to be better than any other MOS for the purposes you are talking about. Being a Marine will make you a better candidate for any job. Getting into NASA will be all about your college education and career choices.
If you want to become a NASA pilot, you'll need go down the military aviation career road.

get your degree, kick but at OCS to earn your commission and to become a pilot, spend about 10 yrs in the Corps making your way up to at least a Captain

i can almost gaurantee the enlisted side will not get you into NASA

Good advice here...realistically though, you're probably going to have to be at least a LtCol and you have to fly jets. There has never been a rotory wing pilot in NASA that I'm aware of. So bottom line is, you'll have to be an officer with about 18 years minimum in the Marine Corps if that's something you want to do...and chances are it's probably pretty competitive so there is no certainty that you'll get accepted in the end.
