MOS 1302 Question

Hi to everyone, and sorry if this is covered elsewhere but I searched and could not find a recent answer. I am wondering about the combat engineering MOS. Does it include fighting with infantry Marines or is it more of a "called upon when needed" situation. Also, what exactly do Combat Engineers do? I still want to start my career with this MOS but have though about moving to an 03 MOS later on. Thank You in advance and sorry if I violated terms. This is my first post so please correct me if I'm in error.

Thank you for your response. I searched again and went to some of the older posts and found what I was looking for. Sorry for not searching deeper. I did find one thing I did not understand though; something about a CEB??? Just wondering what that was. I searched and not even one link came up.
