Lejeune Marine dies in collision

The N.C. Highway Patrol has released the name of a Camp Lejeune Marine killed in a motorcycle collision in Sneads Ferry on Thursday.
Joseph Irwin, 21, of 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines, died at the scene around 5 p.m. when he lost control of his 2005 Suzuki while turning off Old Folkstone Road onto N.C. 210 and colliding with a car, said Trooper Sean Spring.
The driver and passengers of the 1991 Oldsmobile were not injured.
Irwin was left of center at the time of the crash, Spring said.
