JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — A Marine accused of beating his pregnant wife into a coma is set to go before a judge.

Court records show Cpl. Jonathan M. Gould, 24, is scheduled to go before an Onslow County District Court judge Thursday morning. Authorities say he used a hammer to beat his wife, Erin Prince-Gould, 26, then stabbed himself multiple times to fabricate a break-in at the couple’s home. Investigators have said he later confessed to attacking his wife.

Onslow County officials said recently that while Prince-Gould was still unresponsive, her condition had been upgraded and she was moved at New Hanover County Medical Center.

A Web site has been put up by Prince-Gould’s friends with updates about her, and soliciting donations to help her family with expenses.

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — A hearing for a Marine accused of beating his pregnant wife into a coma has been postponed.

Cpl. Jonathan Gould was scheduled to go before an Onslow County District Court judge Thursday morning. Court records show the hearing was cancelled. Officials said a new date has not been put on the calendar.

Authorities say the 24-year-old Gould used a hammer to beat his wife, 26-year-old Erin Prince-Gould, then stabbed himself multiple times to fabricate a break-in at the couple’s home. Investigators have said he later confessed to attacking his wife.

Onslow County officials said Thursday that Prince-Gould’s condition was upgraded to stable, and that she’s still being treated at the New Hanover County Medical Center.
