Congrats to yer son fer shootin' so well. He's made it this far, percentages are on his side.
We'll have to wait on someones else's expert opinion on the other. Stay on his recruiter's butt about that contract.

I have to agree with Sgt Bones,and with respect to the majority of recruiters. It is likend to a used car salesman you have to keep after them so you get all that is coming to your son. If the recruiter who signed your Marine up does not give the satisfaction that you want go to the 1st Sgt or OIC of the recruiting station. It could be a problem with paperwork but.....IMHO it should have been taken care of before that youngmans feet hit the yellow footprints.Keep after him! As much as I love the Marine Corps nowadays you have to keep copies or the originals of all paperwork that he signs......if you can get them to give it to him.Wishing your Marine the best of luck in life and the Corps. Mom;
RELAX.
His paperwork went with him to MEPS, and from there to MCRD.
IF, and I say again, IF there is a problem with his PFC guarantee, it will surface after he is fitted for his dress uniforms and others in his platoon are having their stripes sewn on.
A typical response from his Drill Instructor NOW would be:
"PFC?, PFC?, hell I'm not even sure you are going to graduate!"

Check the MCRDSD website - they post the dates of scheduled graduations for each recruit batallion.
Check the Comfort Inns for places to stay - at a reasonable price, I might add - close to the MCRD. And I would suggest reservations soon.
Pack light clothing - it may be July 2nd, but the depot will feel like August in Africa - it's a dry heat, but it's there.
The Thursday before graduation is Family Day - your son will be able to take you to several of the training sites he has lived with for 13 weeks, as well as his squad bay - and then there is the Family Dinner. You eat with your son, and don't be surprised if he braces when a Hat walks by. Get to the main gate around 1100 - families are expected on the parade deck by noon to see the parade of the units and then to meet the newest members of the Corps.
Graduation Day is one you never forget - get there well prior to 10 AM to be able to park within a reasonable walking distance of the Parade Deck. And by the way, the shade at the Deck is minimal - I do suggest hats for all.
To this day, I remember my husband's walk across the parade deckon the Island, and my son's there , too - you will remember these days. And the young man who walks towards you on Thursday will amaze you. The Corps took the raw materials you gave them and molded them into a unique creature - a United States Marine - thank them for it.
(And by the way, if he reports to SOI-West after his boot leave - the 6'6" instructor - tallest one there - is my son.)
