Navy To Name Sub After John Warner
Posted: Jan 9, 2009 07:27 AM
Former Virginia Senator John Warner is getting one of the greatest honors the navy can give. The next Virginia-Class attack submarine will be named in his honor.
Warner's career in public service began in 19-45. That's when he enlisted at the age of 17 in the US Navy. Then he joined the Marines.
Warner served as Virginia's senator for 30-years.
Northrop Grumman shipbuilding in Newport News will partner with General Dynamics/Electric boat corporation to build the USS John Warner.
