I'm trying to find my recruiter, last known rank was SSGT Mark N. Weaver, he was recruiting out of Laconia NH, in the late 80's. I am trying to contact him with news of a passing mutual friend. Sgt Paul Lacaillade, last duty station was 2/2. If anyone know Weaver, please have him get in touch with me. my contact info is in my profile.

Anyone that knew Paul, he was killed in an accident last August while riding his bicycle with his father, sister and neice. He left behind a loving wife and two children.

gentlemen, it takes a special breed of men, and in the beginning boys 17 to 23 years old who joined the crotch for whatever reason. we hold a common brotherhood that cannot be taken away. You can't explain to a "doggie" or an "airdale" what it meens to be a MARINE. I have so much pride in our corps, I cannot begin to put it in words.
If I seem a little sentimental about our Corps I apologize to whoever this affends. I am proud to have served in the same Corps as you men.

being the good marine that I am, I was sure that everyone knew that my post included all marines, male and female alike, I did not mean to leave out any female personal, just like corpsman are included in my response, now having said that remember that I served in General Shoups marine corps, and I swear I don't remember platoon 143 Parris Island SC 1961 having any female marines in it. Having never served with a fine women marine, I can only pass on the great confidence, and ability that the women marines have. we sorry ass men have been alone too long.

Robert Hall, if you do any genealogy about your Hall Line, I'd like to see if we are kin. I have about 5000 names in my PAF Ancestry. I can't find the parents of John Hall, m. (1730) beautiful Anne Bolling. They lived in VA & NC. The name Robert Hall is prolific in my lines. I'm harmless (aged 78), and I find that in talking about ancestry, people are either very interested or totally disinterested. So in closing, however you might feel about sharing genealogy, I'll use one of my favorite pilfered lines from Marine Gene Hackman as he used in a recent movie: "... don't worry about me, I handle rejection very well...". Kindest regards, Gary Hall, W-3-1, 1950-51, & Tyler, TX. Gung Ho {we at one time were allies with the Chinese). :usmc:

Hello Gary Hall,
Yes I'm interested; however, the timing isn't good. I'd like to pick up this subject next week or so. My legal name is Robert Lee Arthur Hall. That's right; two middle names. Arthur was my dad's name. I'm told that the 'Lee" has a southern connection. Yes, that Lee. More later.

Good day,

Back in 1981 I was serving as a Corpsman and stationed at the helicopter base in Tustin, CA. On February 11th, a CH-53 and a CH-46 collided in mid air over the base. Six Marines were killed, but one, by the grace of God, survived. I took care of him on the ride to the ER and saw him at the memorial service. I have often wondered how he is doing and pray for him often. I have researched the internet trying to learn his name, but to no avail.

Any help to locate him would be much appreciated. I don't have any other information other than he was on the CH-53.

And a big thanks to the Marine Corps for taking such good care of me between 1977 and 1981. Some of the best memories in my life! Kilo Co. 3rd Bat. 3rd Mar. 1st. Mar. Brigade and VMFP3

I remember a mid air colision at NAS Fallon between a CH 46 and a CH 53 outside NAS Fallon where a civilian was involved in 89' but not one in the 81'. Did a little guard watch that week. The 46 Bent a Rotor and split the Cabin. Pilot still landed her!!!! TAPS for the 53

Meagan93 and Sheena Street, this part of the forum is for Marines only. Marine Friends post in the Ask A Marine forum or in the Marine Family (Open Discussion) section of the forum.
And the Marine Corps has boot camp/recruit training, not basic. The Army has basic training.

YOUR NOT A MODERATOR<<<<NOW GET THROUGH IT YOUR HEAD;)

In August 1969, USMC F-4B tail number 151012 flying with VMFA-115 based at Chu Lai, S. Vietnam was lost on a night bombing mission. I am trying to locate the crew chief of that aircraft to get more of the story as to why it might have been lost.

I have read the "official" reports but they all end with "lost at sea". The pilot was a classmate of mine and too good of a "stick" to write him off so simply. I am trying to get more information about the challenges he faced during those last one or two hours of flight. Crewchiefs loved their aircraft like their own children so I am hoping that I can find the crewchief for F-4B 151012 and see what he or others remember.

I can be contacted off line at phoenix98604@msn.com

A MARINE'S PRAYER Almighty Father, whose command is over all and whose love never fails, make me
aware of Thy presence and obedient to Thy will.Keep me true to my best self,
guarding me against dishonesty in purpose and deed and helping me to live so that
I can face my fellow Marines, my loved ones, and Thee without shame or fear.
Protect my family.
Give me the will to do the work of a Marine and to accept my share of
responsibilities with vigor and enthusiasm.Grant me the courage to be proficient
in my daily performance.Keep me loyal and faithful to my superiors and to the
duties my Country and the Marine Corps have entrusted to me.Help me to wear my
uniform with dignity, and let it remind me daily of the traditions which I must
uphold. If I am inclined to doubt, steady my faith; if I am tempted, make me strong
to resist; if I should miss the mark, give me courage to try again. Guide me with the light of truth and grant me wisdom by which I may understand the answer to my prayer. Amen
