Semper Fi do or die. That is what it is all about. I am an older Marine, but as hard core as you want to get. Served with G 2/5 1st Mar Div. Battle of "Hue" '68 Tet offensive, 0311 (never would change my MOS) later blown up in a mine field. but not dead. I am in great shape, (no gut, and still working out) and willing to go, but need no BS. I would love to take it to the enemy again, I have full combat gear, and fully armed, so if you are serious, name the time and place and I will be there. I have served my time in hell, but am willing to face the bastards again. If it me or some young Marine, let it be me. I have been blessed by this great country, and I am willing to serve again.

I served on board the USS Proteus (AS19) in 1960-62, at Holy Loch, Scotland. I was a Navy second class petty officer, and the ship's Legal Yeoman. My Superior Officer was Captain, (at the time), 'J' 'C' Rappe, USMC, who was the Legal Officer. I may have been the only 'swabbie' that had that distinction at the time. He was also in command of a detachment of enlisted marine personnel that were responsible for the security of the Polaris missiles, and the brig, that we maintained aboard. Now that I'm retired, and my life has slowed down, I've recently taken an interest in locating and communicating with my old shipmates. The ones I've been able to contact have no knowledge about 'J' 'C's whereabouts. If any can help me reach him, it would be appreciated greatly. Thank you! And, Semper Fi!

You could call them that, but there are those who hold no responsiblity and their stripes hold no power because they only rely on those in rank above them; i.e..... "The Colonel said," ..............
My name, my grade, my reputation and the position the Corps gave me was all the power I needed. My seniors knew that if they wanted something done, give it to Gunny B.

Looking for old buddys from G. Co. or F. Co wpns. plt. 2/7 from back in my day of active duty 7/1980 to 3/1984
Hell it would even be good to here from some of the guys from boot camp MCRD 3024 maybe some of my D.I.'s Like well at that time Senior D.I. Ssgt. J. L. Pierce and or Sgt. M. D. Flynn Those were the Two That Realy stuck in my head!
It would be great to here from just about any one from back then to here how life has treated them thus far.

When I was Honorably Discharged on my E. A. S. From I. Co. 3/9 I had only been with them for a little over a month. stuck on guard duty with Hq. Pltn. and realy never got to know any body there. as I had been transfered from F. Co. 2/7 for being, too short to go a second time Overseas to Okinawa Japan. on another 6 Month tour.
Then about 2 weeks after I had been out, was when I had relized what a mistake I made in getting out!
It was tough becoming a civ. and even harder finding a job with my experience, not enough of one and too much of another (where do you go when your best at killing the enemy?) with as little as a K-bar. and use to following orders.

Then when I did take a job as an armed security guard! the rules of engagement had changed, in so many ways. yet I overcame those rules and truely missed the Corps!

So to all of you Semper Fi., ooohra!!! and may God bless you! All. that have gone over to train the rag-tops on how to patroll and maintain controll of there own damb country.

Still wish, I was young enough to go with you! Once again, Semper Fi!
