Good evening Marines and Merry Christmas!

I was just wondering if any of your had a good or memorable stories about one or more Christmas's you spent in the Marine Corps. Whether it was in boot, the fleet, or a deployment or in the sand box! Just wanted to hear your experiences.

My Christmas's were spent kicking a** and taking names.

The only Christmas Days I enjoyed were the few I was at home on leave for. Otherwise they were a day off with most facilities closed, unless I was on-duty as an MP or some other duty. I didn't mind working on holidays and would often swap duty with some guy who was married or had a girlfriend to spend time with. Marines take care of their own.

Christmas in Vietnam was quiet, except we spent the day wondering if the VC and NVA were going to violate the stupid Christmas Truce our government insisted on having. They never followed the truce unless it was in their interest to do so (i.e., needed a safe period to resupply themselves).
