CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — A Marine from Florida who led Iraqi soldiers in two battles has earned the military’s fourth-highest combat award.
Capt. Christopher D. Wills received the Bronze Star on Wednesday during a ceremony at Camp Lejeune.
The Marines say Wills fought with valor on two occasions as a Military Transition Team leader with the First Iraqi Army Division. In April, he held his ground so Iraqi soldiers could escape, and the next day kept his men safe during a mortar barrage.
Wills is 37 and from Apopka, Fla.
