40 Marines and sailors return from Afghanistan
Approximately 40 Marines and sailors are scheduled to return to Hawai'i today after a seven-month deployment to Afghanistan.
The Marines will meet their families on Marine Corps Base Hawaii at the 3rd Marine Regiment Headquarters building early this morning.
As part of an embedded training team, the Marines helped train Afghan Security Forces to increase security and help stabilize the country.
