Question Concerning Infantry MOS

I have no doubt that this question has most likely been asked before but my search option on the website is not working correctly, so my apologies in advance.

I am going to enlist into the Marines under the Infantry field and I am very much looking forward to an opportunity to have the #0311 MOS as a standard grunt Rifleman.

My question is simple: Is there any way to increase my chances of getting the 0311 MOS as opposed to getting a different one, or am I just rolling the dice on what Infantry MOS I will be given?

Please don't rag on me for asking something that has been posted before. I've tried doing some online research and I can't get a quality answer anywhere. I would search the forums but when I try to the stupid image thing doesn't work. I'm just a man looking for an answer, not trying to be a pest =/

Well, I was going to give you hell, but you kind of impressed me. You did slight a Marine NCO, but it wasn't terrible, but an apology would be nice. To answer your question...if you make it TO SOI, don't tell them you're good at math and when they ask for 0311's go to that line/list however they are going to do it and do it fast. That's about your best bet.

Your rolling the dice. But, while you have that MOS you can transfer over to 0321 Recon. You have to pass the indoc called RIP and then you will be sent off to ARS or BRC to become Recon. If I were you I would look into it.
