The word on the streets was that they were responding to another incident and turned the wrong way down a traffic circle, and ended up lighting up the civilians. No insurgents, no cowboys, no war criminals. Regardless of what happened, they are being offered up as scapegoats to hold a tenuous diplomatic tie with the fledgling gov't of Iraq. Well **** that - we need to remember why we sent them there and support them. If they were wrong, fire them. Nobody, especially no pansy ass diplomat or lawyer can judge them.
