View Full Version : MEU Ribbon??
I have been attached to the 31st MEU for almost a year, (will be a year in Dec) and i have heard rumors about rating a ribbon for being on the MEU for a year. I was just wondering if someone out there knew fact from rumor and could let me know!
Thanks

You'll rate a sea service dep ribbon after a certain amount of time.
Your unit will rate ribbons based on their operations and how they conduct themselves on deployment.

Having served with the 31st MEU for 2 years, you will rate a Sea Service ribbon after 90 days or 9 months serving in Okinawa.

The 'final' answer:
IF you have been aboard ship, or deployed, for 90 days, you will rate a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
Once you are in the FMF for 30 days or more in a 'victor' unit, you will rate the 'Global War on Terrorism Service" Medal. (You will not rate the GWOTEM unless you go to a certain area, or country).
IF the 31st MEU has been awarded a unit citation, it will appear in one of the MarAdmin Award messages, or you can check the unit awards page.
