Just wanted to share with my fellow Marines that today the wife and I have been married 32 years. Got married a month after I came back from Vietnam and she served 3 years as a Marine wife. Our first born son is a Marine baby. Born while I was at Camp Pendleton. We have been together a total of 35 years.
So tonight I will take her out and wine her and dine her and I will have a drink for all my brothers and sisters out there in the world.
My Paula is a great gal, you know how us jarheads can be.
Any one else been married this long or longer?
God bless all of you out there and live long and healthy lives.

What a 'Refreshing' post. Congradulations to you and your Paula. The only thing that would have made it any better is a picture of you two.

My 'boss' and I have been married 13 years this next Sept.

God Bless Bro.

Congratulations!
That is a wonderful testimony of the commentment to marriage!
All of us Marines probally wonder how they could put up with us near that long!
For my lovely wife (Marine wife one year) and I it will be 40 years in July. We spent the day together working on a water garden, planted a tree that she wanted and spent time together taking time to share the joys that marriage can bring.
I think you already know it---every year just gets better!
Congratulations to you both!! Keep having fun together!

Kubba,

I'm glad I waited, because I had a smartass remark I was prepared to make.

The love of my life checked out with cancer after 22 years, otherwise it would have been 41 years in April.

My new life started seven years ago, and unfortunately I can't expect it (me) to last long enough to catch up to the first.

I wish you all that I had, and all that I have now. Lives are different. You probably relate to your grandchildren, I eliminated the middleman.

I wish for you, "And I say to myself, What a Wonderful World."

fisrtsgtmike I am truely sorry for your loss and I can not even imagine what you went through. As for myself I think I would probably curl up in a ball and not want to do anything.
A lot of people do not realize being with some one that long you become part of each other. And I hope all you married Marines have happy and wonderful lives together with your spouses.

On another note, wouldn't it be great if we could get a pention for all those years of marriage?

Everyone be safe and god bless

kubba,
Many moons (mid-sixties) ago a wise gentleman from the Philippines told me, "Young man, it's not who you sleep with that counts..it's who you wake up with that counts."
Sounds like you have been waking up right for 32 years. Congrats from South Florida.

Congrats are in order, for sure.

I'm on number 2, going on 13 years with my Cathy. If you are as happy as I am, your are indeed a lucky man.

Now, try to stay out of the doghouse for 32 more

So far Terry I have yet to make it to the dog house. I think it is the Marine survival instinct. Know when to duck and advance to the rear. Also always agreeing does help.
And I will say that waking up next to the same person is nice.
I wish everyone long and happy lives.
