Hi
I am hoping to become a Marine Reservist and have a few questions.
Its hard to get direct answers from the other web sights and recruiting info.
Do I have to do Active Duty before becoming a reservist?
What MOSs are there for reservists?
On average, how often are reservist units called into active duty?
Thank you for your help.
My respect, gratitude, and admeration go out to all of the men and women who are serving or have served in the US military.

OK, now that we have that taken care of...

You can enlist as a reservist. You will spend about 3 months in boot camp, and then additional training. If you're in college you can divide the training over two summers- if not you'll do it all at once. The length depends on your MOS. Some schools are quite long.

As for jobs, most are available to reservists. But, they are not all available in all locations. Below is a link to the units in Washington. You can get an idea of what is available by looking at it. Just to clarify one thing, the 14th Marines are artillery.
