Is the outfit an improvement as the acronym suggests? like the Molle was supposed to be superior to ALICE. If you have only humped the ILBE what does it feel like loaded to the seems, balanced/unbalanced, f*cked up, cozy?

It's awesome as long as you pack it right, it's hard to keep it balanced if you don't. It's kind of annoying as it hits you in the back of the head when your walking. Other than the unavoidable rash from the straps rubbing on your shoulders and hips, it's pretty nice.

The ILBE is better then the MOLLE but for all around terrain/use the ALICE beats all.
I would not want to use an ILBE pack in the jungle.
It is a good pack if you are doing civilian type outdoors activities, but very impractical for military ops.
For excellent packs look into Mystery Ranch. They have packs that are designed to work with body armor and a very comfortable.
