Current mission of Our Corps

Dear Fellow Marines!
Can some one tell me, what is the official doctrine or the stated purpose of the Marine Corps(I know the real one--Kick hass and take names!!) But, I am looking for a mission statement.

Eric,
You being a marine should know what the mission of the Marine Corps is. Didn't they teach you that in boot camp? Look in your essential subjects hand book, every Marine has one or should have one. In Chap. 2, Marine Corps History, Customs and Courtesies, it tells what the Marine Corps mission is. Hope this helps out.

I re-read J. Robert Moskin's The US Marine Corps story. He gives it there. The truth is, I forgot. There is alot of things, I have forgotten---Do you remember the War Powers Act? I had also forgotten that the President can deploy the Corps without Congress. We are the only service like this.
