FROM STAFF REPORTS

Approximately 90 Marines from Marine Attack Squadron 311 and Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 13 are scheduled to return home today after a six-month deployment at sea.

The majority of the Marines will arrive by bus to Marine Corps Air Station Yuma at 8 p.m. to be reunited with family and friends. The Harriers were flown to Yuma Sunday afternoon.

On May 4, the Marines and six Harriers from VMA-311 and MAL-13 set sail from San Diego aboard the USS Peleliu with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. During deployment, the VMA-311 Tomcats trained the Kuwait Air Force as part of Exercise Eager Mace 2008 in early July.

The remainder of VMA-311 returned in mid-October from a seven-month deployment to Iraq.
