You are at the last minute trying to assemble the belt for the blues. There are four pieces of brass that have to go on there and you are standing there staring at it like a dog watching a ceiling fan. Have no fear it is easy.
Find the middle of the belt. Drop the belt down and fold the ends back to the middle equal distance and around your waist touch the folds together. Adjust the length of the folds so that when you touch them together it will be real snug (there is a 4 inch buckle gonna be added). If the tail of either fold is longer than 6 inches you can cut it, but if the tail does not exceed your hip bones don't worry about it. Whether or not you cut it, apply super glue to the ends of the belt.
Next the buckle... you have already found the fold, so slide the buckle right to where you folded it. Next you add that little rectangular piece on the end of then push the end back through the loop on the buckle. This will have the entire fold inside the loop of the buckle with the keeper on the loop. Pull it tight and there you go. Do the same on the other side.
Properly worn the tail end slack on the belt will not be seen unless it is way long. There are no measurements on how much tail is left.
