Ex-Marines to fete Corps' birthday
TOMS RIVER: The Toms River Detachment Marine Corps League will hold a ball in honor of the 233rd birthday of the Marine Corps, from 5 to 10 p.m. Nov. 8, at the Elks Lodge, 600 Washington St., according to organizers.
The ball will feature music, dinner, beer, wine and soda. Mayor Thomas F. Kelaher, a retired Marine, will be the honored guest. Tickets are on sale for $50.
