I run my PFT tomorrow for my OCS application.

This, and one more recommendation, is my last hurdle.

My last PFT left a lot to be desired:

13, 74, 21:21 --> 218

Now, I'm around 14 pull-ups, 100 crunches, and I am not sure about the run. I ran a timed mile-and-a-half this past Thursday and finished at 9:32. I felt good, so I'm hoping I can get a sub 20.

Luck has nothing to do with it.

Hard work, never quit.

^ Absolutely Corporal.

I've worked harder in the last 2.5 months for this than I've done for anything else in my life thus far.

However, all of the work in the world right now will not positively affect my performance tomorrow. So, may I propose the thought that luck may help a little?

Go Terps! From one former UMD student to a current one good luck man. Who is your recruiter by the way?

For your run remember long stride, control your breathing, PACE YOURSELF but don't go too slow, and anyone that tries to pass you after the halfway keep up with them and beat them. Strong finish, you can puke when your done.

Good advice, I like it; unfortunately though most of the PFTs at the OSO's office are individually run so I won't have anyone to keep pace with. The stride and breathing points are definitely right on the money.

Swim. Swim. Swim. You'll be tested on it and it will help pull-ups and cardio. Pay the $53, or whatever, to the local YMCA for professional lessons. Its worth every dime.

We had some pukers too the SDI didn't like the puke on HIS Marine Corps deck so whoever puked had to clean his own sheet up,lmfao.:flag:

I contracted today with a 241.

I wasn't happy with it, but I'm happy to be where I need to be to contract.

(My pull-ups didn't improve, my run was awful, but the improvement in crunches gave me the points I needed.)
