when did you see this article, "mountain?"

If you will notice, in the upper left corner of the post is the date and time of the entry (10-15-08, I believe), so, I think I read the article that day or the 14th.

The disturbing thing is, Iraq is "pushing" for still more concessions and the current administration seems to be bowing to their wishes. This is BS!!

Actaully, this is a pretty standard part of the a SOFA (Status of Forces agreement). As the military transitions from a wartime occupying force to a peacetime training (similar to our standing forces in Japan), it is natural that the Iraqi government would assume some jurisdictional responsibilities for crimes committed within its borders.

This should not affect combat related actions at all. What it SHOULD govern are non-combat crimes.

We're moving from an occupying role to a training/advisor force. It's a natural progression and also why you don't hear outcry from the military ranks as well.
