Baby Dillon's family reunited

Newschannel Three has been following the story of Baby Dillon for months and today, for the first time in a long time, Dillon is home from the hospital, his dad is home from service in Iraq and their family is together.

Looking into his baby boy's eyes. It's something Major Hal Sellers had been looking forward to for months.

"Just to see him every day and know he's doing well. It's great."

When Major Sellers was deployed to Iraq in February, his bouncing baby boy looked lifeless and severely underweight. Dillon was in desperate need of a heart transplant.

"When I left, he was skin and bones. Not very good, at all."

Despite Dillon's precarious condition, Major Sellers chose to be deployed with the rest of his unit, a decision he doesn't regret.

"I believe I had a responsibility to the Marine Corps. They're my family too."

Dillon did get his heart ten weeks ago, and the Sellers family was finally reunited last Sunday.

"This is the way it's supposed to be,” says Dillon’s mom Betsy. “This is the way it was supposed to work out."

Now Major Sellers is making up for lost time.

"Oh he's changing diapers, waking up at two, doing the normal dad things," Betsy says.

Another duty Major Sellers says he will gladly accept.

Sempers,

Roger
