My name is Alex Maxwell a poolee. I have a friend who's cousin was killed in Iraq yesterday (10/5/08). How do you talk to some one who has lost someone close to them. If any one has any adivice, please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated.

There isn't anything that you're gonna say that will immediately remedy the situation or make the person feel ten times better. Just be comforting and if they wanna talk, let them. Also, none of the "he's in a better place now" BS.

Not gonna get better advice than that. Let them grieve, hurt. Most people just need to know that they can hurt, thats it's Ok to hurt. Just be a friend by being there, with out advice.

Just tell him that you're sorry for his loss and be there for him if he wants to talk about it.
