Online homework help service available for Marines, families

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION, YUMA, Ariz. — —Marines and their families can now get free help
with school work online anytime because of the Marine Corps’ new partnership with Tutor.com.
Students of any age, in kindergarten through college, may use the online Live Homework Help
service to connect to a certified tutor for help in math, science, social studies and
English.
“There are currently few before- or after-school tutoring programs offered in any of the
Yuma schools or on base, and this program helps to counteract that,” said Jennifer Stampfer,
the air station's school liaison.
Each tutor has earned a degree and has completed extensive background checks, said Kara
Froman, Tutor.com client services manager. The Tutor.com network has more than 2,200
professional tutors and has given more than 3.5 million one-on-one tutoring sessions.
“Any time anybody can get some one-on-one help, it’s going to help significantly,” said

Anyone who wants to use the site may access the service at base libraries or from home,
after obtaining password and login information from the library.
“Tutor.com is proud to support the families of the men and women who are serving our
country, especially during a time of war when many parents are deployed and spending time
away from their children,” said George Cigale, Tutor.com founder and chief executive
officer.
