ADAMS COUNTY, Pa. -- An Adams County senior citizen is getting ready for the trip of a lifetime. It's not to see the sites, but to bring hope to troops who have given up more than you can imagine.
Gloria Krug, 75, is headed to Landstuhl Germany. Gloria, who served 34 years in the Marines, volunteers with a program called The Wounded Warrior Ministry. It's run out of the Lundstuhl Regional Medical Center. Volunteers tend to the needs of soldiers brought there from the battlefield.
Gloria will spend 27 days in Germany, hoping to bring a smile to their faces. She'll also be handing out sweat suits and toiletries to wounded troops.
The Wounded Warrior Ministry is seeking monetary donations so they can buy needed items. If you would like to contribute, you can send a donation to:
Landstuhl Regional Medical Center
ATTN: MCEUL-CH/Chaplains Office
CMR 402, APO AE 09180
For more on Gloria, her trip and what inspired her, watch News 8 Tuesday at 6 p.m. for Carrie Fairchild's story. That story will be posted in its entirety here at WGAL.com later this evening.
