Be safe this weekend, and pause and think of the one's that gave all, this is a special weekend for all of us, we understand what freedom really is and the price of it. I just hope the rest of the USA is with us. Semper Fidelis Marines and God Bless you all.

You're right---it's time to remember those that gave their all.
No longer youth, no longer a future, no longer life.
They gave all.

Memorial Day
To all my friends who are on line,
To all my friends I hold dear,
I hope you all are doing fine,
And live with no fear.
I hope your picnics are wonderful
The food so devine,
And your hearts are so full
Of thought sublime
But let us not forget,
On this day set aside,
The lonely vet,
Who took it all in stride.
He walked with George
In the wilderness
And at Valley Forge,
Never giving less than his best.
He did it again in 1812
When the British began to shell
The Street of Freedom,
He knew so well.
Whenever his country
Issued the call
He Paid his fee
And risked it all.
Never a boubt
As what to do
When he looked over the redoubt
He knew what he had to do.
For you and me
He often fought,
But never to be
Our friendship bought.
In countless wars
From then to now
From stripes to bars,
No one asked why or how.
Let us all say thanks
This one special day,
To the ones in ships and tanks
So far away.
For they are the ones,
In service today,
Who hold the lines
So we may have this day.
I am no poet as such, but I do hope each of us stop at least once today and think of all of those who have fought for the freedom we enjoy and all too often take for granted. I do hope you enjoyed the poem and each of you have a wonderful day with family and friends.
