Hey ya'll,

I was just wondering if any of you are Intelligence Specialists, and have made a lateral into Counterintelligence/HUMINT, or could tell me about those MOS's, like what the work is like. I just want to make sure I'm not getting into some paperwork job.

Thanks,

Pat

I'm pretty sure this has been asked like a thousand times before....

And what's wrong with a paperwork job? 0151 Admin Clerk here, and I bet I'd run your ass in the dirt.....

Yes sir, you probably would. Nothing wrong with a paperwork job, my recruiter was Admin., and he kicks my butt every PT. That's just not where I want to be. And I apologize if this has been asked a lot.

Look in the Pool(ee) Hall towards the bottom of the first page at the Thread called, "Intelligence Specialist".

Here's the link if that was to complex...

The last two pages are more recent and I've covered similar things to what you're asking. If you have further questions after you've read this thread, feel free to ask me or post it on the thread.

I understand. It's not for everyone. Truth is, it's not where I wanted to be either. But that's another story. Hope you got the info you were searching for. Didn't mean to snap, poolee, just hadn't had my morning coffee yet. And please don't call me sir, I'm neither an officer nor a Drill Instructor. Plus damn, I'm only 24....

Damn, 0231Marine, you are stacked, brother! A Corporal with a Navy Comm, some NAMs, Combat Action, NUC, MUC, ICMs, GWOT, GWOT-X, and a sh*tload of Sea Service Deployments?!.... maybe I should lat move to Counter Intel? ;)

Seriously, though, there's no denying you earned every one, unlike some of these Admin LCpls who get a NAM for just doing their jobs, and not even exceeding in them
Semper Fi, bro!

LOL, not that it's a competition or anything but I missed out on 4 more (PUC, another star on the Sea Service and ICM and an Armed Forces Expeditionary) by about 2 weeks. Checked into my unit right as everyone was coming back from OIF 1...all part of being with the most deployed unit in the Marine Corps over the last 5 years though. I've had some good officers that have recognized my efforts and I've been in the wrong place at the wrong time sometimes (Combat Action Ribbon) but I enjoyed my time in.

Yut!

Ive been in for four years and have done two OIF tours, Im thinking aout doing a LAT move into 0231. What can a CPL like me expect being new to the field? Whats the school like? What oppertunties are there ex. jump school, SEERS, foreign languages?
