is anyone familiar with this? it's the two year active duty option with 6 years of reserves/whatever tagged onto it. i was wondering if any of you are 2 year marines or if you could give me more information on this program.

You still need to read and follow the rules. Marine is always capitalized.

What exactly did you want to know?

I wonder if anyone will admit to actually being in this program. The Corps didn't want to offer it and will only offer the minimum number of contracts under this option.

sorry, Marine. If the program is frowned upon I doubt if I will pursue my research. It would help to hear some more about it or if anyone here is part of it.

With all due respect and not to rain on your parade there SSGT but, you may want to fill out your profile so we know who you are. There have been a lot of E1's that sport higher rank in their name and tales and joined many years ago and are STILL in service come through here recently. Some of us like to know who we're talking to.

I havent dealt with any Marines in the national call to service but at least on the Navy side I hear they hate it.

For some reason, the sailors that were national call to service wanted to go active duty while they dropped into their reserve time and were not allowed too. *shrugS*

Sounds like crap to me and SSGT, no one hear wants to knock you but we follow the site and policy procedures. Even the E-9's on the site, and I ain't about to get in one of their faces. We like to see just who it is we are talking to. Semper Fi and good day to ya.
