For some FOOTBALL!

I love this time of the year - on the couch, with some wings, drinking some beer, and watching some FOOTBALL!

I'm all amped up..... I'm gonna put some stick'em on, blacken under my eyes and go outside cut my lawn and roll around in some fresh grass before kick-off!

But before I leave.....I'm wondering.....WHO'S GONNA WIN IT ALL THIS YEAR?

I say it's Romo time to turn it up a notch and win it for the Cowboys.

Sorry Pats fans ....Sources: Brady out with ACL tear

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is expected to miss the rest of the 2008 season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, according to a source familiar with the injury.

While New England coach Bill Belichick said in his postgame press conference that he had no update on the status of Brady’s injury, two sources indicated it involved serious damage to the knee.

“It’s bad,” a team source said. “We’re going to have to play without him.”

Brady was hurt as he stepped up in the pocket to make a throw to wideout Randy Moss. Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard, who was on the ground, lunged forward and struck Brady’s leg, which buckled as he released the ball.

Brady was helped off the field and was later led down a staircase by team officials, presumably to undergo tests.

Fourth-year quarterback Matt Cassel, who had thrown just 39 passes in his career before Sunday, replaced Brady and completed 13 of 18 passes for 152 yards and a touchdown. Cassel, who backed up Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart at USC, hasn’t been a starting quarterback since high school. He won a competition with Matt Gutierrez during the preseason to retain the job as Brady’s primary backup

Fly, Eagles, fly! I didn't get to see today's game (shucks), but I kept tabs on the score, & it's nice to start the season 1-0! Next up, the Dallas Cowgirls!

Brady is all dun. I called it (not here), he was due -- the whole team is due for some bad luck because they beat way too many odds last year.

Good thing I never jumped on the Pats bandwagon... ;)

See today's Morning Zephyr. Pack looked OK - Vikings looked rookie-ish.

I agree, Vikings didn't look like a veteran team, but it was the first game o fthe season and I think that things will settle a bit in the coming weeks...still holding on to the hope of a good play-off run for MN..

But did you see that 35 yard-er that AP broke off? The defenders were spinning around in circles. He's special; I can see him breaking the 2,000 yd mark this season. Most teams are going to stack the box, but even so, with his burst, vision, and quickness it's going to be fun watching him this year.
