CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. -- About 100 Marines returned to Camp Lejeune Saturday after serving in the Middle East since December to help fight the war against Iraq.

They are members of the Second Force Service Support Group at Lejeune. About 200 members of the same unit returned to Lejeune Friday.

The Marines flew into nearby Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station and were taken by bus to Lejeune. They arrived at the base about 7:15 p.m. They were greeted by family members and other Marines.

Corporal Carlos Earedes was among those who welcomed the troops home.

He is a member of the unit, but he had to return home on May 3 after he injured his leg in an accident in Kuwait.

He said he was sorry to leave behind his fellow Marines, and he was glad they're home safely now.
