This is my first post here, so I apologize if I posted this thread in the wrong place. Anyway, I just graduated boot camp Friday and, since I'm a 92 day reservist, I am supposed to report in to my reserve station tomorrow morning. I'm a little anxious about, primarily because I'm not sure what to expect. Could anyone shed some light on it or give me advice? Are there any specific protocols or special customs/courtesies I should know about pertaining to reporting in?

Remember, you are the low man on the pole. Remember what your DI's told you. Be polite and don't act like a know it all. You will be fine. Welcome aboard Marine and good luck.

Just show up squared away your frist drill. Good haircut , good shave, be respectful and volunteer for every single working party. Youll be noticed for the right reasons.

I second the volunteering for every working party;) But at the same time show that you're a man capable of wearing that uniform.

Dont become like many reservists and get caught up in the civilian world; those that do bring their civilian personality into drill with a "I dont care" attitude. Stay motivated and you'll do fine.

Can anyone tell me what you usually do during a drill weekend?

It depends on your job, being infantry, we do mout alot (military operations in urban terrain) When we can get the ammo we do mortar shoots. But mainly we train, and hike, alot.

Congratulations Marine!

You'll do fine! Introduce yourself and they'll take care of you.
Don't act too much like a boot and watch out for the "you need your ID-10T" type gags!
Stay away from the turd 'birds. Set the example always!

Send him out for ten-feet of flight line too. Watch for the B-1-RDs. Also, he has rocket watch from 0001 until dawn.

You sit on top of a bunker keeping a lookout for incoming rockets or mortar rounds. Better stay awake on watch!

Never go into the company gunny's office and tell him your platoon sergeant is looking for a "prickee seven".

Thats the time when you ask the Gunny where he can check out a PRC-E7

The "Prop Wash" is right next to the "Key to the Bn. Clock." Ask the Bn. SgtMaj. where the key is. Should be wound every hour on the hour.

Thats too funny...we "ax-qualed" a boot one time....actually we had to use a machete...we didn't have an ax...I think thats what this boot needs too...he needs to be "ax-qualified"...

You could always send him out to get a bottle of frequency grease.
