Savannah Marine Honored

An American hero was honored today, but not for his work on the combat field. Staff Sergeant Bobby Stafford with the US Marines was awarded the Outstanding Voluntary Service Medal and a Certificate of Appreciation from the Boy Scouts of America. It was presented to him this morning in front of the Marine recruiting offices in Savannah.
SSgt Bobby Stafford, Received Outstanding Voluntary Service Medal:
"Helping the kids in the community is something that I get joy out of doing and is actually seeing them succeed. So, if I suggest recruiting, I’m actually a big brother figure, big father figure to some of these kids here in Savannah."
He was one of several marines that volunteer at local high schools in the Learning for Life program.
