What is the policy on what you can and cannot bring to boot camp. I have heard a wide mixture of things. I'm not bringing anything but the clothes on my back, but what of pictures. I have heard of recruites getting pics in the mail while IN boot camp but I have also heard that that is a very bad move. So which is it.

Also, what all are you supplied with during boot camp? Just curious.

I'm going to try and remember what I got.

Besides uniform Items... and the seabag

Some Tide that was for the whole platoon..

Toothbrush and toothpaste
Razor with shaving cream and 2 packs of extra shaving heads
Soap
Letter writing kit
Pens, marker, highlighter
PT gear (sweats) and PT Shorts
socks (boot socks (comfy, still use them), white socks and black dress socks)
shoes
2 binders for knowledge
Guidebook for Marines
Blue money valuable bag
3 locks and one rifle cable
moonbeam and batteries
laundry pins (huge safety pins)
bug spray
sunscreen
scuz brush
2 nail brushes
Dummy Rag
handkerchiefs
ditty bag

That's all I can remember right now.

keep in mind that your paying for that out of your first check. they will deduct it.... It was around 230 when I was there

You better watch the Boys In Company C, they have them in this movie getting off the bus and going threw receiving. This is the First movie that Lee Ermey played a DI after he got healed from his wounds.

Book that my recruiter gave to me after i swore in at MEPS says a recruit should/could bring the following:

Social Security Card
Recruiters business card
The clothes on your back
Eye glasses or contacts
Religious materials/medals
Prescription meds and a paper prescription for your doctor
$20 or less in cash

Females also remove nail polish....
Bring 3 pairs of skin-toned pantyhose
1 white or beige bra
6 white athletic bras
7 or more pairs of white panties
Portable blow dryer, curling iron or hot comb
Required items for hair care maintenance.

What a recruit should NOT bring
Cell phones or portable music players
Lethal or otherwise dangerous weapons, ammunition, knives, explosives, pyrotechnics or fireworks
Alcohol or illegal drugs
Gambling devices
Porn
Food, tobacco, gum
Nonprescription meds
Vitamins
Glass containers or pressurized containers
Magazines or books (except religious)
Jewelry except wedding bands and religious medals
Sunglasses unless prescribed
Cameras, radios, watches, all electric appliances
Nail polish or polish remover
More than $20 in cash

Hope that helps lol
