William Peter Blatty's, The Ninth Configuration, is a movie about an experimental government center for troubled Vietnam veterans located in the State of Washington. The inmates run the asylum. One works on an adaptation of Shakespeare...for dogs. Another fancies himself a caped superhero. Still others masquerade as frogmen, nurses, pirates, doctors. Yet the psychiatrist in charge eyes all with stoic reserve, maybe too stoic....there's a mystery here.
Why I even brought this movie to this forum is that this is a movie where the main characters, yes, even inmates, are Marines. I don't think that I have ever seen this movie listed on movies about Marines but then I've been wrong before. It stars Stacy Keach, Stuart Wilson, Jason Miller, Ed Flanders, Moses Gunn, Robert Loggia and the one and only Neville Brand. The movie came out in 1980 I believe. I found it in the video section of the local public library.
Adios, for now.
