Only 1/2 done. Going to be lots more imagery around it and fill ins and stuff. Hasn't got the white highlights yet (y'all tattooed ones know that's what seals the deal and makes it real).

BTW if you hadn't guessed that's supposed to be a Spartan. I'm thinking of getting his cape in a maroon color for a Frank Miller-esque style.

Ron, so that's you huh? I saw your ink on Sgt.Grit! I've been wanting to get the flag raising on my other arm, and yours is what I planned on taking in to the artist, to give him an idea!:flag:

Spev, yea it was on Grit. The artist really wanted a clear image, so he could put in the detail, the size of the image wasn't as important as it being clear. He could enlarge or shrink as needed. He put in the F4s and the Zeros at the same time. I have better pics on another puter, its a really clear and detailed tattoo. I use lots of sunscreen on all of my tattoos.

It was a fun tatoo, you want yours on the other arm from your EGA?

Yeah, on the other arm...
I only have two right now,. just got my second at Bike week
The Flag raising on Iwo Jima is one of the most amazing images, and means alot to me personally! All of the ink I eventually want to have done, I want to pay respect/tribute all of our fallen brothers (not just Marines) But right now I do have enought ideas to cover both arms (upper and lower) :iwo:

Thats cool, I was busy for bike week that was up in PA, wished I could've blasted up there.

I've seen some Iwo tattoos where they just made it solid black, didn't like that. Just make it big enough to put the detail in it, it will be way cool.

I thought the planes flying overhead added something to it.

There are some excellent artists out there now days, can't wait to see yours brother.

I plan on getting this one touched up and adding some writing below it....but I haven't decided what I'm gonna get yet.....Don't mind that bag of trash in the background...I swear I was just about to take it to the dumpster.

Never got to take a decent picture of it, but heres mine. Not really satisfied with it. I kind of want something else around it.

I wanted something a little differant besides the classic EGA tat, so I had him draw this up.. Its on my right ribcage, so the anchor is facing inboard.

I paid $380, and gave him a $50 tip.. So all together it came out to $430. There are a few things I notice that bother me, but all together He did a decent job.

I got this one in July. Total of 10hrs in the chair. The first session was the outlining and shading, the second was the coloring. I had the idea of what I wanted in my head and told it to the guy and he came up with it. I'm really happy with it. (edit: didnt know itd come put that small on the page, click the pic and itll take you to a bigger one.)

I never got one, but the dagger with the "Death Before Dishonor" banner curled around it was popular in my day.
