U.S. Marine dies from injuries in Iraq
BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- A U.S. Marine died Monday from injuries sustained in combat, the military said Wednesday.
The Marine was hurt in Anbar province of western Iraq in "action against an enemy force." The name of the Marine has not been released.
Anbar was the site of intense violence between Sunni insurgents and U.S. Marines early in the year, but bloodshed has ebbed there as Sunni tribal leaders turned on al Qaeda in Iraq.
The Marine is the fifth member of the U.S. military to die in Iraq in July. Last month, 29 servicemembers died
