Area veterans given Honor Flight

Thirty-two World War II veterans from central Alabama attended an Honor Flight to Washington this week.

The trip, part of a national program begun in 2005, takes veterans, at no cost to them, to see the World War II Memorial, which was dedicated in 2004.

Birmingham's Honor Flight group was organized earlier this year, and the first flight was April 30.
