Hey guys, haven't been on in a while. Just checking in to see if any recruits will be leaving July 28, bound for PI. I'm pumped! Although my recruiter lied to me about some things including my MOS. He got canned for false enlistment papers last week. My mos was 0351 now it's changed to 0341 Mortarmen. I'm doing reserves so that's how it goes. I was a little disappointed with 0341 after I thought I was going to be assaultmen. Any input on 0341 would be appreciated. Anybody leaving the 28th let me know. Thanks for your time!

Hey I am leaving july 28th for Parris Island. I'm also doing reserves and I'm from Ohio, but I think 0341 is in Columbus. I had a friend who is an 0341 out of Columbus. Im going to Datyon btw for 5811.

Kp, did you want to go reserves? You were going to be an "assultmen"....I'm not up on the Grunt MOS"s, so what is that?

Dude im from Ohio too. I'll be out of Akron. Message me will ya. Yeah i did choose to go reserves. 0351 assaultmen is firing the rocket launchers like the SMAW. Woulda been bad ass, I'm not up on the whole mortarmen thing, we'll see i guess. My recruiter told me mortars arent been used a hell of a lot in iraq so i'll prolly be training with assaultmen too. Has anyone ever been able to change your reserve station when u get back from boot? Mine is Akron but I want Dayton. It's closer to the University of Findlay

I'm from Cleveland ohio. But the college im going to is Findlay Ohio. My reserve station is set for Akron ohio, but I was wondering if I could change it to dayton after i got home from boot. My recruiter is SSgt. Irene, out of Mentor,Ohio

Ask about reserve positions in Perrysburg. Its about 25 minutes from Findlay. I know that they have assaultman and mortarman positions open for the next fiscal year because I went into the office this weekend and found out. Just take a look, you may find something you like there. You can call the Findlay office (SSgt. Brooks or Sgt. Tabor) and they may be able to give your recruiter some info.

I dont think your job can be that specific. I think you can only pick the infantry field and not a specific job in the field. Did you sighn paperwork for the specific job?

First I have a number. I'll give it to you over PM later tonight...call Findlay. Go through your recruiter first so you don't **** him over though.

Seocondly he can be specific with the jobs when you are a reservist. There are only so many slots open for each specific MOS so they give it to you directly.

I dont think your job can be that specific. I think you can only pick the infantry field and not a specific job in the field. Did you sighn paperwork for the specific job?
I'm pretty sure that Active duty, you would sign something like 03xx.
But reserve jobs are specific to the unit you join so you get a contract in a specific job such as 0311 or in his case 0341. Correct me if I'm wrong please.
