Marines to give 6 veterans "Hard-Core" award

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. - The Marine Corps is giving "Hard-Core Warrior" appreciation certificates to six veterans who have served in three conflicts.
The certificates honor service in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
Camp Lejeune base commander Col. Richard P. Flatau Jr. was scheduled to award the certificates Wednesday afternoon. Base spokesman 1st Lt. Craig Thomas said it will be the third time the ceremony has been held.
