ESCANABA - Robert "Buck" H. Turner, 87, Escanaba, passed away Saturday morning, June 28, 2008, at D. J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette.
He was born Nov. 7, 1920, to the late John and Nellie (Young) Turner in Minneapolis.
On Dec. 27, 1947, he married the former Evelyn Meyer in Menominee. Evelyn preceded him in death in 2001 after 55 years of marriage.
Buck served his country in the United States Marine Corps and spent time in the Pacific during World War II. He retired as the Steward at the Escanaba Elks Club and also worked for the Escanaba Country Club.
Buck enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to camp and being with his dog.
He is survived by three sons, John (Bonnie) Turner, Ken (Martha) Turner and Bruce (Nancy) Turner; five grandchildren, Mary, Brian, David, Steven and Becca; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Buck's parents, his wife, and one brother, John Turner, preceded him in death.
Honoring Buck's wishes, he will be cremated. His urn will be buried next to his wife Evelyn at a later date convenient to his family.
The Allo Funeral Homes of Escanaba and Spalding are assisting his family.

His family asks that memorials be directed to the Escanaba Elks Club.
In living memory of Buck, a tree will be planted in a Michigan State Forest.
