N.C.-based Marine division gets new commander

CAMP LEJUENE
Maj. Gen. Walter E. Gaskin is giving up command of the 2nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune.
Gaskin will be replaced today by Maj. Gen. Richard T. Tryon.
Gaskin took command on the 2nd Marine Division in June 2006. He led Marines in western Iraq's Anbar province from February 2007 to February 2008. The division's tour in Iraq was marked by dramatic security gains, few casualties and improved municipal services.
Tryon is coming from Virginia. He was the commanding general of Marine Corps Recruiting Command.
