Hello Marines.

I was curious; I know this is a ways off, and I should earn the title first, and I will...but I was wondering, I have kinda always wanted to be an FBI agent, if my MOS is 03xx, does that help in applying for an FBI agent job? My recruiter talked about it as a possibility but says nobody ever ends up doing it...I think it would be cool. Does this happen ever? Do people go from the Corps to FBI, ATF, DEA, etc.?

To get a leg up on certain high speed low drag civilian jobs later in life a good choice would be to pursue MSG duty. You pass MSG school and you walk out with a TS SSI security clearance. That will get your foot in the door for sure.

yeah fbi does like ex military, especially ex Marine Corps grunts, but they usually want a college degree in criminal justice to go with it and most people if they do 4 and out the door then go to college dont want to go back to working for government pay.

You will need a bachelor's degree (not necessarily in criminal justice) to join the FBI. Accountants, lawyers, and IT people have better chances to join.

Well I was planning on finishing my last 2 years of my computer science degree while in the Fleet or after...so the combo of a college degree and grunt work, how does that look?

You need to find an FBI forum. This isn't it.

Completing your degree in Computer Science will give you a good shot. FBI is real big on Cyber Crimes and that degree will definetly help you out. Good luck.
