The Royal Air Force Base Lyneham has the solemn duty of repatriating Military personnel killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The cortage leaves the Air Base and drives through the small Wiltshire Village of Wootton Bassett the Union Flag-draped coffins past hundreds of silent village mourners who shut shops line the street come to pay their respects,vehicles stop drivers get out the cortage stops at the village war memorial for a minutes silence,former old soldiers salute their former comrades a women out shopping stops and bows her head " I think it only right that we take a few minutes to acknowledge everything these young men have given up for this country", Wootton Bassett Lady Mayor joins members of the Royal British Legion and shoppers who line up along the road as the hearse's of the fallen drive past.
Wootten Bassett's respect for the fallen has also touched the hearts of people from across the world, The towns police station has been flooded with letters and emails.
Well done to this small English Village.We will remember them. Aye JR
