CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — Members of Camp Foster’s Young Marines Program will begin an "Operation DVD" drive Saturday at the Foster exchange, according to a Marine Corps news release.

Operation DVD is a nonprofit organization that hopes to collect more than a million DVDs and create DVD libraries for troops at bases in Iraq and Afghanistan. Its goal is to create DVD libraries at each military installation.

Camp Foster’s Young Marines hope to collect more than 5,000 DVDs on Okinawa, according to the release. They also will accept CDs. Collections boxes are available for the next three weeks at the Foster exchange, the U.S. Naval Hospital Okinawa and Lester Middle School.

Inappropriate movies will be weeded out, according to Operation DVD’s Web site. Children’s titles will be distributed to military families in the States and on Okinawa, the Marine release said. To learn more about Operation DVD, visit www.operationdvd.net or call DSN 645-1323.
