Soldiers test for hard-to-earn badge

Hundreds of soldiers began their attempt for the Expert Field Medical Badge in the past two weeks, but few will pass.
Soldiers from all over South Korea and as far away as Fort Bliss, Texas, participated in this month’s training and testing at Warrior Base, near the Demilitarized Zone.
The testing includes a variety of precise tasks ranging from weapons proficiency to treatment and air evacuation.
Even something as small as saying the word "three" instead of the phonetic "tree" during a radio evacuation call can cause a soldier to fail.
