Was last night. Anyone else have theirs recently?
Well it was alright. Kinda got me thinking though that I have wasted my 4 years of highschool. Im not the kid with the girls or a whole bunch of friends or things like that so I feel like I missed out now that graduation is coming soon.
I feel that the Corps will kind of change that part about me and make me feel like im part of something and be different.
Or I could just be a loser blowing hot air lol:p

Had mine last night. Was alot of fun. My school has this thing called prime time after. Got a free ipod in a random drawing. Can't complain.

that was my prom photo. class of 05. i was straightedge and had only been going to the school for 3 months. i didnt party afterwards and i didnt like my girlfriend the last 4 months out of our 2 year relationship. i was the fatkid who'd rather goto hardcore shows than out to the bonfire parties. ......all the popular kids now work at factories, on farms, pizza shops, local retail stores, any other dead end job. me? i'm a freakin marine. need i say more? i have more memories in the past 9 months of the marine corps than i do from high school.

Ya I only went to my junior Prom. Our ROTC Ball was a lot better than the Prom. Prom always had a bunch of idoits that ruined everthing, for example: kids in jeans, getting thrown out for fighting, just over all not squared away what so ever. The ROTC ball was much nicer because everyone had to be dressed up because they were in there uniforms and the girls, well whens the last time you've seen a girl wear jeans to a ball or prom haha.
Did any one else have Military balls ? (no pun intended, I realize that any Marine has BALLS, even the girls, hell some times the girls have more balls than the guys haha)

My NJROTC Ball was in Oct, my Prom was May 2 and I'm going to my friends prom on the 30th. Wether prom is overrated or whatever it is you boys think. I appreciated it. It's probobly one of the last times I'll get to party and really see a lot of my class. I'll be gone soon and prom will be a memory that'll be cool to have. The Military Ball was great. Seeing my SNSI get drunk and dance was FUNNY!

Haven't been to a ball yet, but did goto a Marine Corps Birthday bash at a Club last year. This year around Nov. my unit will be at 29 Palms.
But I have heard stories of what goes on in those.

Haha, hey Whitey, I was straightedge in High School too and was pretty into the hardcore seen and still am a little bit. I hated partying and anything that had to with it in HS. I had the XXX stickers and my car and everything and people acted like I was an alien or something, haha.

Prom is overated, wait until Nov. 10. Now thats a real party. I can't wait to celebrate the Marine Corps birthday as a Marine. I've celebrated it as a cadate for two years but other then that I can't wait to do it as a Marine. Not to mention I skipped prom, homecoming, winter formal, and whatever other dances there are but I definitly hit up the parties ha ha.

Dude quit being so hard on yourself. Yea, I partied some and I have decent game but who gives a ****. Its High School...everyone has a different experience! I feel like I missed out on a completely "regular" high school experience because I go to a smaller school. Theres not too much to say here man, I am not completely sure where your going with this. Being a Marine wont change your High School experience, it will change your life. You probably wont talk to anyone after High School anyway...at least most Marines I have come into contact with have told me they cant deal with their High School friends anymore so who cares how many you made.

Hey Tiny 15 is pretty good to go, you want to get up there to 20+ though. Don't worry about pushups too much yeah you will do thousands of em' in boot but they are not tested. You will build it up. Work on them pull-ups since they are worth the most on a PFT, if you can do 20 pulls than you can relax on the run a bit. Most i did in the Marines was 17 pulls but I ran crazy hard and came in about 18:35 for the 3 miles most of the time. But if i could have got up to 20 pulls i could have taken it more easy on the run instead of puking all the time after it. But as a Marine, i suggest you work your ass off and get 20 pulls 18 min 3 mile and 100 sit ups it will only help ya. KILL bodies man!

It's all about confidence, thats all i'm gonna say. If you have confidence you can have anyone (Sometimes). Anyways, pushups are my weakness to lol. I've got pretty long arms and when you have long arms everything just sucks. Why cant I just have long legs? That would make pull ups, push ups, bench easier. Pull ups are my concern right now. My Recruiter told me pull ups are like gold in the Marine Corps.

My probleam is the other way around, I can do as many pushups as you can throw at me but cant do 5 pull ups to save my life, i have no idea why. I need to find a gym or some where that I can practice them. Dont have much money though to get a gym membership.

go to the park and use the swing set. thats what i do. some even have pullup bars. i went from barley doing 5 in Nov. to 15 (on a good day) now.
start out with sets of 2. but do 30. then bump it up to 4 in two weeks and do 40. or more if you can.
right now i do 8 reps and do 80 (10 sets)
also another thing you could do is
run 1 mile
do 100 pullups
200 pushups
100 air squats or 200 lunges
run 1 mile again.
do each excercise in sets of 10/20/10 or if you do lunges do 10/20/20 it kills. or actually in your case, it would be 5/10/10

Improvise, Adapt and Overcome. I dont have a gym membership but what I do is I get some rope, get a sh!tload of milk jugs or something that is heavy, tie those babies to the rope, then grab a bar or something, tie the rope to the bar, then go to a tree branch or anything pretty much, then throw those milk jugs or whatever you decided on and start doing lat pull downs :). If you make it short enough, and you dont have weights to do curls with, make that rope short and do some curls with it. Trust me it works. I do it all the time, and it has helped me tremendously.

I'm way out of shape. 13:39 mile and a half, 4 pull ups, 78 crunches. I gained a **** load of weight in the winter and have been slacking it with weight training. Right now I have shin splints so I can't run.

I have 2 proms coming up in two weeks, I am really looking forward to them. Junior prom kinda sucked because I was set up on a more or less blind prom date with one of the worst chicks I've ever met (definition of *****). I'm going to go out on a limb and say the date makes all the difference which is why I am really looking forward to this year. I'll report back before I head out.

it truely is about how much self worth you feel you have. feel like youre better than everyone you have a ****ty personality, feel your not good enough for anyone and you have poor confidence. you just have to find the happy medium and before you know it you'll be pulling cougars haha

Yes, I do need help getting up on the pull-up bar and no I am not complaining about my height. I use it to my advantage but, being able to reach things once in a while would be nice. lol. :)

Yeah I'll have to say one of my favorite things about being tall is finding that perfect short girl that when I stick my arm out it falls right around her shoulders. Got to be a perfect fit though, no bending down or anything (bending down is only for kissing;) )

Prom at my school was last weekend. I didn't go because I couldn't go with the girl I truly care about; it's a reeeal long story and everything....if you have ever seen the movie "Born on the Fourth of July" (about former Marine Ron Kovic), then my situation is close to his (he skipped out on prom too since he didn't get to go with the girl he loved).
Case in point, senior prom will always be a dark blot of a memory to me....guess I'll just wait and see what happens come the next Marine Corps birthday ball (since it's in November, I should be done with boot camp by then, by God's grace).

Prom is overrated. I didn't even get any on my senior prom. My date wouldn't put out. All in all, it was epic fail.
I just had my prom two weeks ago. Prom in my city is a pretty big deal, we have a documentary made about it... called... The Worlds Best Prom. We have our normal proms at the High School then a GIANT one down at festival hall with all the school, kareoke (I cannot spell that word!), moon bounce, laser tag, lots of food, amazing DJ, all sorts of stuff. It was fun, I went with a friend I work with and he was possibly the best date ever.
All in all Prom was fun, I skipped most of the other dances and went out instead. Now partying with a buncha Marines on 10 November... THAT'LL be FUNNNN! I very well may be in boot camp for the next one.

Just thought I'd throw in my update. Went to my and my girlfriends prom. We both leave for boot camp Sunday (how we met over 6 months ago. I know, I know, but we also both by coincidence are going SMCR for school, so we will see how it works out, I'm hopeful).
