Alright I talked to SGT Webb (my future recruiter) last night since he texted my dad the other day thinking it was me. He told me that there is going to be a field meet in FT. Devens, Mass. I am not a poolee (yet, im still thinking on when to sign the papers either in the summer or fall) but since I am pretty much a poolee he invited me to join them when they go. I was wondering if anyone else is going to this.
Also I was told that we would be doing marksmanship and martial arts. Does anyone know what else will be done during this time?

TOTALLY AMPED FOR TOMORROW BRO! You gotta go, It's going to be AMAZING! I'll be with RSS N. Boston if you want to come and look. I'm also going to be a guest but oh well. I think it's Ft. Devens New Hampshire by the way. Either way it does not matter because TOMORROW IS GOING TO KICK ASS!

Fort Devens is in Devens Massachusetts. It would have been a lot cooler if it was supposed to be competitions like originally planned.

I bet there is still going to be SOME competitions. Even if there isn't it's still going to be kick ass.

THAT WAS AWESOME. Congrats to Boston, who I believe went away with the best overall group. I was a guest with RSS Portsmouth, my part was from Northern Maine which you could tell it was us cause we were the ones to **** in the bushes and be the least in tune with each other. That and our recruiters said that we wont be doing any of that "gay Sh*t that you guys see them doing over there. We have to leave somethings for the DI's to teach you" and I think that was in reference to RSS Boston ;) .
What was your guys' IST there? Mine was
10:15 1.5mile
6- Chin Ups
50- Crunches
I could have done better but I was up at 0300 this morning getting prepared to meet the recruiters cause its a 4-5 hour ride to FT. Devens.
I personally enjoyed the martial arts section. The guys there were short but oh my I wouldn't mess with them. Sgt. Bryant is a good Marine, quite funny in his teachings with us and the stuff that he taught us is going to help me if I get into a fight here soon  . Sgt Bryant, then I believe it was Sgt Lloyd who was shorter but jacked beyond belief. Remember I say Dedication, You say MOTIVATION." Then Sgt Bryant "Strike" Us "KILL"
I also liked the weapons portion of it. LCPL Artmon (sp) was awesome "Light Machine guns, .50 cals they all will bounce off tanks but I don't care. When I shoot my 81mm mortar at you, YOU ARE F**KIN DEAD!!!!" "81mm when you absolutley positivly need it destroyed. 20m of a kill radius, when I shoot this I can be 10m off and still F***IN kill you" Followed up by SGT McConnell (Recruiter from Bangor) telling us of all of the machine guns and the way he described everything and this quote "Does my swearing offend any of you? Well to f***in bad!" I was able to hold the M16A4 w/40mm Grenade Launcher it was suprisingly light, but felt soooooooo right in my hands almost like it belongs there.
I think the only things I didnt get to do was look at the Humvees closely (I was waiting to get my hands on the rifles) and the marksmanship simulator (which no-one did).
But the MRE's were great and the way the gave them to us was better, lol just randomly chucking them at us. I ended up with Menu No. 05 Grilled Chicken, it was delicious especially without cooking it. But it sucked to be those guys who got the vegetarian crap MRE's.
Anywho this future Poolee needs his sleep I have been up for almost 20ish hours and I am exhausted. This was super MOTO for me and I really want to go practice what Sgt Bryant taught us. But that must wait for later.
Oh yea I got TWO NEW Marine Corps T-Shirts today. The one that they were selling for $7 there and a gray one that says MARINES on the front and says "Pain Is A Weakness Leaving The Body"

"I like to call these three weapons my symphony of destruction. These two are my girls, when the first b*tch stops firing, her girlfriends pipes in and starts chirpin away. Give me a ooh rah!"
weapons presentation was the best part of the day.

Smitty Puffs, I ran the IST first. I was in the top 10 to finish the run I think I was 7-8th, I wasn't able to use SGT Webb for a pacer cause I slowed down on the second lap hard.
LCPL Atrmon (SP) and his 81mm Mortar "I dont care you will be f*ckin dead"
Sgt McConnell was the one who told us about the machine guns, every 3rd word was f**k.
The martial arts was awesome, I was suprised at how short they were though, Sgt Bryant and Sgt Lloyd. STRIKE, KILL. STRIKE KILL. STRIKE KILL!!!!!!!

From RSS Waltham right here. My recruiter (SSgt Connors) was one of the guys doing the weapons demonstration. My best friend pulled off female high PFT so have to give her props. BTW they said her hang time was 1:29, it was actually 129 seconds, or 2:09.
18 Pull ups
130 Crunches
10:07 Run
Pretty annoyed that we didn't get recruiting station high PFT, we have some guys who would have turned the tables completely but they aren't the most reliable of poolees... hopefully the Corps will fix that quality.
Entire day was nice and I picked up a good farmers tan.

The day turned out to be absolutely beautiful, which was great because the morning was cold and rainy.
We saved the partying for Saturday night.

I usually run anywhere between a 9:45-10:12 but after sitting around all day and not having any food in me, i had no energy to put out on that run. My buddy cahill got a 9:22, 2nd out of the entire RS. We picked him up at my other friends house party that morning too, drunk off his ass.
Staff Sergeant Lloyd is the man. He's one of the recruiters in my area. Short as **** but strong as hell. SSgt Connors was the funniest Marine ive ever met.
