Once you create your Signature over there you will see a box at the top of the page "The following code displays your signature using BB code"

Copy that into your signature control here (http://www.leatherneck.com/forums/profile.php?do=editsignature).

Alright ill break it down Barney style for all the SNCOs out there lol. When you get to the site up top there will be like a register/login deal. Hit register type in your info, than it should ask you to login. Use that info and login with it. Than click the Marine Corps Insignia, fill it out how you want remember for ribbons if you have a bronze star or any devices click the "Select Attachments" deal right below the ribbon than after you select you device hit "Set Attachments" than head down a bit more once your done and click "Create Signature" a little exploding bomb deal will pop up for a second or two than your signature will show. Than take the BB code highlight it all copy it "Ctrl C" (Apple C) than come back on to leatherneck sign in go to "My Info" than edit your signature and paste the BB Code into the box "Ctrl V" (Apple V). Save it all and you should be good to go. Semper Fidelis Marines, this is basic but you should be able to navigate you way threw it all with my instructions. KILL!

So true.... I would say out of all the ribbons I display that there are only two that aren't right place right time medals or ribbons. The Navy Achievement Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. It's not what's on your chest that counts anyway. It is what is in your chest.

First, somewhere along the line I got may dates wrong. Second, if you refer to the Vietnam yellow ribbon, normally a ribbon counts as 1st award and each star counts as another. With this ribbon the stars indicate major campaigns my unit was involved in. I was in H&S Co. III MAF outside Da Nang. Our CAP unit was tasked with protecting
"The Friendly’s" if there were any.

Each Good Conduct is awarded after 5 years of service. In this case the ribbon counts as 1 and the stars 4 more for 20 years. My hashmarks are the same.
One of my classes I taught in K-Bay was Uniform Regs., I still remember them fairly well as well as Medals and Awards. Love answering inquiring minds:marine:

At that time 68-71 there were 2 tunnels, the Pali and Likelike, usually pronounced as Like Like by Haoles.

I shot the Pali many a night. Stopped at the lookout where the wind blows so hard with a buddy after drinking a tad much. Stepped over the stone wall to pee, was new there and didn't realize the wind was blowing up. Took a quick pee shower.

I taught close order drill, the M-79 grenade launcher, pistol m1911A1, remember what the A1 was? Assisted in tactics, mapping&compass (Before GPS) and all other classes pertaining to NCO's and SNCO's.

Another date and time mistake, the award is for any 3 years of continuous active service. In my case of 5X3 = 15, my papers show a period where I got office hours.
Now as to "(I am not doubting your credibility but). Is there any purpose behind your line of questioning?

I would be most happy to scan and provide any documents you feel necessary to satisfy your "Inquiring" mind.:marine:

The M1911A1 Cal. 45 was the primary handgun before the 9mm issued I guess still today. The 1911 indicated when built, the A1 indicates 1 modification, anyone want to give the modification?

I know the answer to the M1911A1 question, but I'll leave it for some younger Marine to research.

Before anyone complains about my ribbons, some of them are Air Farce. The site doesn't have all of the ribbons I rate under the Marine Corps option. I looked like a Third World Dictator anyway thanks to the Air Force.

Even the Air Force doesn't go that far. But, small arms marksmanship is not considered a major skill set for most AF people (no sh*t), so they only give you a ribbon for shooting expert with either a rifle or pistol. You get one little bronze star device if you shoot expert with the second weapon too. But once earned, you never lose it even if you shoot unq for the rest of your career.

My old Air Guard security police unit took a great deal of pride in our small-arms skills. It was severely frowned upon to wear the expert ribbon if you didn't continue to earn it every year. AF regs be damned. I'm happy to say I never had to take that ribbon off.

I see a few Marines having problems posting their generated signature image.

The most common problem is the inclusion of a number after the image name:
member0000.png?0000

If you delete the ?0000 part, it should display properly.
